Beautiful and very old, the blooms of a feral Damask rose, an ancient variety prized by perfumers that goes by many names. It’s fragrance is hypnotic and reminiscent of honeycomb with green spice and cognac notes. The petals are treasured for rose oil and the buds make a grapefruit-scented tea.

Our wonderful @slow_wine_usa wineries @ehlersestate and @grgichhills are at it again making some noteworthy rose' wines from Bordeaux varieties that were featured by @willwrite4wine in Sunday's San Francisco Chronicle.

In the ongoing search for a non-alcoholic beverage that has the complexity and deliciousness of #wine, I went back to @threespiritdrinks Spark ($25) for a second glass. What I like about the product: tea based, koji-fermented fruit, not as funky as kombucha making it easier to enjoy with food. While the list of ingredients mimics many of the components of wine, the jury is still out on the efficacy of many functional ingredients.

A splendid evening with @perrierjouet Cellar Master Séverine Frerson! Five ethereal wines with the #Blason rose’ as the grand finale. This year’s theme is officially #Champagne!

Wrapping your head around winegrowing in #Colorado requires spending some time with Ben Parsons, who is no ordinary guy, from @ordinaryfellowwines His Box Bar vineyard sits at 6300 ft. at the base of the Ute Mountain in the Four Corners region. The Cab, Chard and Riesling from this site are unique to their place.
